  • Wineries- There are over 25 wineries in the King Valley, producing some interesting and exciting wines – ask Damien, Megan or Vince for their recommendations or have a look at some of the events we host

Nature and Scenery

  • The majestic King River encapsulates all the King Valley has to offer. The King River is an excellent place to fish, kayak, white-water raft and swim. There are plenty of free camping options.
  • Lake William Hovell- renowned for its fishing and cool temperatures in summer
  • Paradise Falls- A truly remarkable natural wonder. Best viewed after a solid rain – easy access though a clearly marked walking path which does contain steps. Paradise Falls is not wheel chair friendly.
  • Powers Lookout- The lookout for bushranger Harry Power, best known for his tutoring of Ned Kelly in the wild ways.
  • Dandongadale Falls- A little known fact is that Victoria’s longest falls with 255m drop is right here on our doorstop. A 4WD may be required along with a fair hike depending on the season
  • Lake Buffalo- Along with fishing and canoeing, waterskiing is allowed here.
  • Fire Trails- Trails provide an excellent way to explore Victoria’s High country. You can travel from the King Valley to outer Melbourne, the coast, Mount Kosciusko or anywhere in between. Just make sure you are prepared, map your trip and let your contacts know where you will be, nature in Victoria’s High country can be unpredictable.


  • Golf– Don’t forget to bring your clubs with green fees at the the picturesque yet challenging Whitfield Golf Club very affordable
  • King Valley Challenge- This is not an activity for the novice athlete with a run, cycle and paddle event. However is also a 5km and 10km run for those who would like to join in on the action.


  • King Valley Art Show-A wide range of art on display over the Queens Birthday weekend at the King River Brewery. It showcases many local and state artists and has a King Valley themes prize.
